Taking your child to the dentist for the first time can be scary for both of you. Dr. Naseri and her team understand how to make babies feel at ease and to be comfortable at the dentist’s office.  Pediatric dentists can address problems that only occur in children and that can impact the growth and development of their mouth, face, and adult teeth. That’s why it is important for children to see their pediatric dentist before the age of one, and then have regular check-ups.  Pediatric dentists can help parents learn and implement the best ways of setting up their child's oral health routine to be a fun and bonding experience with baby!

What happens at baby's first dentist appointment?

Your child's first visit to LOL Dental will be a quick and easy process. We will greet your little one, count how many teeth they have, and then examine their teeth and gums to ensure that everything is nice and healthy. We expect a parent to stay in the room while the little patient is having their dental exam, as it makes for a much better experience for everyone!

Pediatric oral care should start even as a young infant because even though your baby may not have teeth yet, their mouth can still collect cavity causing bacteria. Make sure to wipe infants gums with a soft cloth after each feeding, and gently brush their teeth twice a day with a pea-size amount of kid-friendly toothpaste.
